Vadodara Woman Sits on Busy Road Protesting Over Being Served Fewer Pani Puris, Video Goes Viral

Vadodara, Gujarat: A bizarre incident in Vadodara has gone viral on social media after a woman staged an unusual protest in the middle of a busy road over being served fewer Pani Puris than expected.

The woman, identified near Sur Sagar Lake, alleged that a local Pani Puri vendor served her only four puris for ₹20 instead of the usual six.

When she demanded two more, the vendor refused, which reportedly enraged her and prompted her to sit down in the middle of the road in protest. The dramatic protest disrupted traffic movement and caused a temporary traffic jam as passersby gathered to witness the incident.

A video of the incident has been widely shared online, sparking a flood of humorous and sarcastic comments from netizens.

In a local news interview, the woman tearfully claimed that she regularly visits the same vendor and accused him of reducing the quantity recently and behaving rudely (“dadagiri”) when she asked for extra puris. She even demanded that the vendor’s cart be permanently removed from the location if he refused to serve the original quantity.

Police eventually arrived at the scene and managed to calm the situation after repeated attempts, clearing the road and restoring traffic.

It remains unclear whether the woman was eventually given the two additional puris she was demanding, but the incident has triggered widespread discussion online about customer service, street food pricing, and unusual forms of protest.
