At the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2025, Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor captured global attention not only for her cinematic presence but also for her standout fashion choices.
Styled by Rhea Kapoor, Janhvi’s ensembles seamlessly blended cultural heritage with archival couture, making her a fashion highlight at the festival.
For her first appearance, Janhvi wore a resham saree by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, inspired by intricate jamavar weaves. She elevated the traditional drape with a vintage 1980s men’s jamavar jacket, upcycled and re-embroidered to create a contemporary red-carpet look.
A matching jamavar shawl adorned with delicate resham tassels paid homage to Kashmiri craftsmanship, while silver earrings and block heels embroidered with jamavar motifs completed the outfit. Her makeup was minimal and polished, featuring a soft dewy base, contoured cheeks, kohled eyes, and muted pink lips, complemented by a sleek low bun and dainty black bindi for a traditional finish.
Janhvi’s second look at TIFF celebrated global couture heritage. She donned a strapless gold saree-inspired gown from Prada’s Spring 2004 archival collection, merging traditional Indian silk embroidery with structured Western silhouettes.
A matching coat draped casually over her shoulders added elegance, while minimal accessories and golden strappy sandals by Aprajita Toor—a modern interpretation of Kolhapuri chappals—offered a subtle desi touch. Her understated makeup and fuss-free hair ensured that the craftsmanship of the outfit remained the focal point.
Janhvi Kapoor’s TIFF appearances perfectly demonstrated her ability to merge Indian textile legacy with contemporary fashion trends.
