Punjab Rains: Kartarpur Corridor Flooded as Ravi River Overflows

Punjab has been witnessing relentless rainfall over the past few days, creating a flood-like situation in several regions of the state. Among the worst-hit areas is the revered Kartarpur Corridor, which has been inundated due to the continuous downpour. The corridor, a significant passage that connects Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib in Pakistan with Dera Baba Nanak shrine in India, has been submerged under rising floodwaters.

Videos circulating on social media show floodwater entering the Sri Darbar Sahib Gurudwara, raising concerns over possible damage to the sacred site. Reports suggest that a large volume of water was released into the Ravi River across the Pakistan border, which led to the flooding of the corridor and surrounding areas. The situation has sparked fears of harm to heritage structures and has highlighted the urgent need for preventive measures amid the ongoing heavy rains.
