A serious road accident took place in Ganjam district near the Dhanantara Panchayat office under Sheragada police limits when two passenger buses collided head-on. According to reports, an OSRTC bus traveling from Sheragada towards Puri was hit by a private bus named Chandratara coming from the Hinjilikatu side.

The impact of the collision left ten passengers on the OSRTC bus with minor injuries, while the driver of the Chandratara bus, identified as Neelanchal Behera, was critically injured. Local residents promptly rushed to the accident site, rescuing the injured and shifting them to Hinjilikatu Medical for treatment.

Sheragada police arrived at the scene, seized both vehicles, and launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
