New Delhi [India], June 29 (ANI): Congress MP Rahul Gandhi conveyed his profound sadness regarding the stampede that occurred during the Rath Yatra in Puri, labeling the incident as a “serious” warning. The Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha underscored the necessity for a comprehensive review of security measures and crowd management at such significant events.

Rahul Gandhi highlighted that safeguarding lives is “paramount” and that any failures in this duty are “unacceptable”.

“This tragedy serves as a serious warning – for large-scale events, security protocols and crowd management strategies must be taken seriously and thoroughly assessed. The protection of lives is of utmost importance, and no failures in this duty can be tolerated,” read Rahul Gandhi’s post on ‘X’.

The Congress MP described the event as “extremely tragic” and offered his condolences to the victims of the stampede. He also called on the Odisha Government to accelerate relief efforts and encouraged Congress workers to extend all possible support in this matter.

“The stampede during the Rath Yatra in Puri is profoundly tragic. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and wish for the swift recovery of the injured devotees. I urge the Odisha government to hasten relief efforts and call upon Congress workers to provide every possible assistance in this regard,” Rahul Gandhi stated in his post on ‘X’.
