CWC Patna Session: Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Adhikar Yatra, Bihar SIR, and Criticism of BJP’s Governance

Patna: The Congress Working Committee (CWC) on Wednesday, during its meeting in Patna, strongly criticized the BJP-led government for allegedly undermining democratic institutions, constitutional values, and the Election Commission.

The resolution passed by the CWC accused the central government of using investigative agencies such as the CBI and ED as instruments of political vendetta against opposition leaders, weakening the foundations of India’s democracy.

The CWC raised concerns over alleged electoral irregularities in Bihar, highlighting issues such as “Vote Chori” and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), which they claim disenfranchise backward classes, minorities, and the poor.

The resolution praised Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for his ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ as a proactive effort to protect constitutional rights and expose electoral manipulation.

Addressing broader issues, the CWC expressed grief over loss of lives due to floods, cloudbursts, and torrential rains in several states, citing inadequate response from the central government.

The committee also condemned communal polarization and systemic discrimination against Dalits and Adivasis, linking such developments to the mainstreaming of the RSS at government levels.

The resolution further criticized the Modi government’s handling of India’s foreign policy, citing challenges such as the US H1B visa policy changes, tensions in neighboring countries, and strategic misalignments with traditional allies.

The CWC also expressed concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, stating that India’s silence has compromised its moral standing on the global stage.

Finally, the CWC extended condolences to the family of Assam’s late singer Zubeen Garg, acknowledging his contribution to music and culture.

The committee reiterated its commitment to defending democratic principles, protecting citizens’ rights, and advocating for responsible foreign and domestic governance.
