New Delhi: Panic gripped parts of the national capital on Saturday morning after several schools, including DPS Dwarka, Krishna Model Public School, and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, received bomb threat calls.
Police teams, bomb disposal squads, and fire service personnel were immediately rushed to the schools, and students and staff were safely evacuated as a precautionary measure.
Thorough searches of the affected school premises are underway. DPS Dwarka announced the closure of the school for the day and postponed its scheduled mid-term examinations.
In a circular to parents, the school stated, “All school buses and private vans are being sent back immediately. Parents are requested to pick up their wards from designated stops. Fresh dates for the mid-term exams will be shared shortly.”

This is not the first time schools in the capital have faced such threats. On August 20, over 50 schools in Delhi and the NCR, including DPS Dwarka and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, received a bomb threat email from a group calling itself ‘Terrorisers 111,’ demanding $25,000.
The latest threat comes amid a spate of similar incidents in Delhi. Earlier last week, three Max Hospitals in Shalimar Bagh, Saket, and Dwarka, along with luxury hotel Taj Palace, received bomb threats, all of which were later declared hoaxes after thorough searches found nothing suspicious.
On September 12, a bomb threat email to the Delhi High Court triggered panic, leading to the evacuation of judges, lawyers, and litigants. The email warned of explosions in courtrooms and judges’ chambers around midday, but no explosives were found.
Authorities say the increasing frequency of hoax bomb threats is under investigation, with the Delhi Police Cyber Cell working to trace the origin of the calls and emails.
