IND vs PAK, Asia Cup 2025: Dubai Police Warns Spectators, ₹12 Lakh Penalty for Banned Items

Dubai: With just hours to go before the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 clash at the Dubai International Stadium, Dubai Police and the Events Security Committee (ESC) have issued a strict advisory for spectators.

Authorities have warned that anyone found carrying banned items will face penalties exceeding ₹12 lakh (Dh5,000) along with possible imprisonment ranging from one to three months.

According to officials, stadium gates will open three hours before the start of the match and entry will only be allowed with a valid ticket.

Dubai Police cautioned that strict enforcement of regulations will be in place, with penalties for misconduct ranging between Dh10,000 (₹2.4 lakh) and Dh30,000 (₹7.2 lakh). Spectators involved in acts of violence, abusive behavior, or use of racist language could face jail terms.

The list of prohibited items includes pets, remote-control devices, illegal or toxic substances, power banks, fireworks, flares, laser pointers, glass objects, selfie sticks, umbrellas, smoking materials, flags, and banners.

Meanwhile, Team India’s assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate addressed the media, saying that while the players are focused on cricket, they are also mindful of public sentiment back home. “It’s a very sensitive issue, and the players share the compassion and feelings of the Indian public. The Asia Cup was in limbo for a long period and we didn’t think we were coming at one stage. But now we have to put emotions behind us and focus on the game,” he said.

India and Pakistan last faced each other earlier this year in the Champions Trophy 2025, which was also held in Dubai.
