Congress MP Rahul Gandhi intensified his attack on the BJP and the Election Commission during his two-day visit to Rae Bareli, alleging massive electoral fraud in recent elections.
Addressing reporters after a Disha committee meeting, Gandhi claimed that his party would soon release “black and white” evidence of what he called widespread vote theft.
“When the hydrogen bomb comes, everything will be wiped clean,” Gandhi remarked, suggesting that the Congress party is preparing to reveal proof of irregularities. He accused the BJP of manipulating results in Maharashtra, Haryana, and Karnataka and alleged that the Election Commission added nearly one crore fake votes after the Lok Sabha elections.
“The slogan of vote chor gaddi chhodo (vote thieves leave the chair) is spreading like wildfire across the country,” Gandhi said, urging party workers to intensify their campaign.
During his visit, Gandhi also held a janata darbar at the NTPC guest house, where nearly 1,000 constituents raised issues related to housing, roads, and public services. In a notable moment, a differently-abled man was carried by his brother to request a tricycle, drawing widespread attention.
The Disha committee meeting itself became a flashpoint, with Samajwadi Party legislators and local leaders staging walkouts over alleged mismanagement and exclusion.
BJP minister Dinesh Pratap Singh, seated next to Gandhi, was seen exchanging barbed remarks with him during the session.
This was Gandhi’s sixth visit to Rae Bareli since his Lok Sabha victory, with his rhetoric continuing to center on alleged electoral malpractice and constitutional concerns.
