Akshay Kumar Joins Juhu Beach Cleanup After Ganpati Visarjan, Urges Public Responsibility for Cleanliness

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar joined a beach cleanup drive at Juhu Beach on Sunday, September 7, a day after Ganpati Visarjan. The initiative also saw the participation of Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani.

Videos circulating on social media captured Akshay personally collecting waste and visarjan remnants, placing them in bags alongside other volunteers.

Speaking at the event, Akshay stressed the importance of public involvement in maintaining cleanliness. He said, “Wisdom teaches us to maintain cleanliness. Our Prime Minister has always emphasized that cleanliness is not just the government’s or BMC’s responsibility—it is also the responsibility of the public.”

Amruta Fadnavis added, “PM Modi was the first Prime Minister to give a strong message about maintaining cleanliness and launch the Swachhta Abhiyan. The number of people who now actively participate in such drives is the result of his guidance.”

On the professional front, Akshay Kumar has a busy lineup of films. He will next be seen in Bhooth Bangla alongside Wamiqa Gabbi and Paresh Rawal. He is also part of Hera Pheri 3 with Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal, which is set to go on floors after much delay. Additionally, he will headline Welcome to the Jungle, featuring over 15 actors, as well as Jolly LLB 3, Haiwaan, and the historical drama Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat.
