Lucknow witnessed a grand celebration on Saturday as the foundation day of Bhagwan Shri Chitragupt Dham was observed with enthusiasm and devotion at Jhulelal Vatika. The event began with the ceremonial adornment of the deity, followed by the offering of 56 traditional delicacies as prasad.
The programme, which commenced at 10:30 am, featured Shri Chitragupt Katha, aarti, and bhog rituals. The event was coordinated by Dilip Srivastava, who emphasized that September 6 is marked every year in a similar fashion to honour the foundation of the dham.
Several eminent personalities were felicitated during the ceremony, including Additional Advocate General Pratish Kumar, senior Awadh Bar Association member Ranjana Srivastava, social workers Satish Srivastava and Ramayan Srivastava, Baldaoo Srivastava, Vinod Srivastava, Rajneesh Gupta (runner-up from the central assembly seat), and Jitu Yadav, former minister of the Lucknow Bar Association.
Rajiv Srivastava, president of the Kayastha Foundation Trust, noted that since the date coincided with Ganpati Visarjan, the programme was scheduled in the morning. He said the occasion underscored the unity of the Kayastha community, their contribution to political and social spheres, and included a collective havan for human welfare.
General Secretary Manoj Deengar highlighted that the event also served as a platform for office bearers to pledge unity, while Treasurer Arvind Srivastava announced the launch of a campaign to ensure Kayastha names are included in the voters’ list across Lucknow’s assembly segments.
Prominent attendees included Trust president Rajiv Srivastava Raja, convener Dilip Srivastava, general secretary Manoj Deengar, treasurer Arvind Srivastava, vice president Sanjay Srivastava, Kirti Chaudhary, advocate Sanjay Srivastava, Swapnil Srivastava, Ranjana Srivastava, Nishith Srivastava, and Anurag Srivastava.
