Begusarai: In a shocking yet miraculous incident, two girls from Bihar escaped unharmed after a goods train passed over them at Begusarai Railway Station on Tuesday, August 26. The incident, captured on camera, occurred as the girls attempted to cross the railway tracks instead of using the station’s foot overbridges.
Showing quick thinking and presence of mind, the girls lay down between the tracks as the train approached. Remarkably, the train passed over them without causing any injuries.
Onlookers at the station rushed to move the girls to safety, and the Railway Police were informed immediately. According to RPF Inspector Arvind Kumar Singh, the station has two foot overbridges, and regular announcements are made urging passengers not to cross the tracks. The girls were later allowed to leave after receiving a warning.
In a related incident highlighting the dangers of crossing railway tracks, a 32-year-old Mumbai police constable, Ganesh Raul, lost his life earlier this month at Nalasopara station.
Raul, attached to the Samata Nagar police station in Kandivali, was attempting to cross the tracks to catch his train after requesting late reporting to duty. Skipping the foot overbridge, he was hit by the train and died on the spot.
These incidents underscore the critical importance of using foot overbridges and adhering to railway safety guidelines to prevent accidents.
