In a shocking incident in Ghaziabad, a woman was slapped eight times in just 38 seconds by a man after she fed stray dogs near his residential complex in the National Capital Region.
The victim, a Ghaziabad resident, said she had been feeding the dogs late Friday night, hours after the Supreme Court modified its 11 August order regarding the relocation of stray dogs in Delhi and surrounding areas, which had earlier been deemed “too harsh.”
The incident occurred at a designated feeding spot in the Brahmaputra Enclave Society, Vijaynagar, where a resident, identified as Kamal Khanna, approached the woman and repeatedly slapped her.
In the viral video, the woman can be heard asking someone to record the attack, while the man brazenly responds, “Yes, record this.” At one point, he claims the woman hit him first.
Following the incident, police registered a case and took Khanna into custody. Earlier this month, the Supreme Court had instructed authorities to round up all stray dogs within eight weeks and keep them in shelters without release.
However, in a revised order issued Friday, the Court clarified that stray dogs should be released after vaccination and sterilisation unless they show signs of rabies or aggressive behaviour. The order also highlighted the importance of designated feeding areas for stray dogs.
