TVK Supporter Dies En Route to Vijay’s Mega Rally in Madurai

A tragic incident occurred as a 33-year-old supporter of Tamil actor and politician Vijay passed away while traveling to attend the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) mega state conference in Madurai. The deceased, identified as Prabhakaran from Chennai, had left with friends late Wednesday night in a van to participate in the major political event. According to police and hospital officials, the vehicle made a stop near Chakkimangalam in Madurai district earlier today. Prabhakaran stepped out briefly but did not return, prompting his friends to search for him. They later found him unconscious and immediately rushed him to the Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit.

The incident coincided with TVK president Vijay launching his second state-level conference in Madurai, a massive show of strength ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections. Thousands of enthusiastic supporters gathered at the venue, where Vijay positioned TVK as a strong third front in Tamil Nadu politics, traditionally dominated by the DMK and AIADMK.
