According to an official press release from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), President Macron initiated the call, and both leaders reiterated the importance of dialogue and multilateral cooperation to address global tensions.

Macron also briefed PM Modi on a recent high-level meeting in Washington, where he, along with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and five other European leaders, accompanied Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for talks with former U.S. President Donald Trump. The meeting focused on seeking renewed support from the United States amid a prolonged and deadlocked Ukraine war.

Further, President Macron shared his assessment of the escalating humanitarian and security crisis in Gaza, underlining France’s position on the need for de-escalation and sustained humanitarian aid.

This high-level conversation is part of ongoing strategic coordination between India and France, especially in light of evolving global geopolitical dynamics. The two nations continue to deepen their comprehensive partnership, which includes cooperation across defense, energy, technology, and regional security.
