Two Dead in Light Plane Crash in Kazakhstan’s Akmola Region

A light aircraft crashed in Kazakhstan’s Akmola region, killing two people on board, the country’s transport ministry confirmed on Monday. The incident occurred in the Tselinograd district when an Aerostar R40F UP-LA229 aircraft went down during a general aviation flight. Fortunately, the plane did not catch fire upon impact.

According to the ministry’s press service, a commission has been formed in line with the Rules for the Investigation of Aviation Accidents. Specialists from the ministry’s accident investigation department have been dispatched to the crash site to determine the cause of the tragedy.

The regional healthcare department reported that both victims—a man and a woman—died at the scene before medical assistance could arrive.

This incident follows another aviation mishap last week in the United States, where a single-engine plane carrying four people crashed into a parked aircraft during a landing attempt at Kalispell City Airport in Montana.

The crash caused a massive fire but resulted in no serious injuries. Two passengers suffered minor injuries and were treated on-site. Preliminary investigations suggest that the pilot lost control during the landing approach. Multiple parked planes were damaged before firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control.
