An IndiGo Airbus A321 aircraft experienced a tail strike during a go-around manoeuvre at Mumbai Airport on Saturday due to adverse weather conditions. The airline confirmed that the incident occurred when the aircraft powered up for a low-altitude go-around, resulting in the tail touching the runway. IndiGo stated that after the incident, the aircraft performed another approach and landed safely without any injuries to passengers or crew.
The airline assured that it is strictly adhering to all safety protocols. “The aircraft will undergo necessary checks, repairs, and obtain regulatory clearance before resuming operations,” an IndiGo spokesperson said. The carrier further emphasized that the safety of passengers, crew, and aircraft remains its highest priority and that efforts are being made to minimise any operational disruptions following the incident.
