A tragic road accident in West Bengal’s Burdwan district claimed the lives of at least 10 people and left more than 30 others injured. The mishap occurred when a high-speed private bus rammed into a stationary truck parked along the roadside. The impact of the collision was so severe that the front portion of the bus was completely crushed, trapping several passengers inside.
Local residents immediately alerted the police and emergency services. Rescue operations began promptly, with cranes deployed to separate the bus from the truck and free the passengers. The injured were rushed to Burdwan Medical College and nearby hospitals for urgent treatment, with several reported to be in critical condition.
Preliminary reports suggest that the truck was parked without any hazard indicators, while the bus was traveling at high speed. However, the exact cause of the accident remains unclear.
