An Air India flight traveling from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi on Sunday was diverted to Chennai as a precaution due to a suspected technical problem and the prevailing weather conditions along the route.
“The crew of AI2455, which was operating from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi on August 10, made a precautionary diversion to Chennai because of a suspected technical issue and the weather conditions enroute. The flight landed safely in Chennai, where the aircraft will undergo the required inspections. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to the passengers affected.
Our team on the ground in Chennai is providing assistance to the passengers to alleviate the situation and is arranging alternative flights to ensure they reach their destinations as soon as possible,” stated an Air India spokesperson.
The flight departed shortly after 8 pm from Thiruvananthapuram and arrived in Chennai at approximately 10:35 pm, according to data from Flightradar24.com. In recent weeks, there have been reports of some Air India aircraft experiencing technical issues.
