Operation Mahadev: How forces located & neutralized 3 terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir

Indian security forces successfully eliminated three suspected Pakistani terrorists during a joint operation called Operation Mahadev, which took place near Mount Mahadev in the Lidwas area of Srinagar.

Sources indicate that the deceased individuals are thought to have been involved in the tragic Pahalgam terror attack that occurred three months prior, resulting in 26 fatalities. The encounter began following intelligence reports and intercepted suspicious communications in the Dachigam jungles, which alerted the Army.

Local nomadic communities supported these findings, assisting the Army, J&K Police, and CRPF in executing the high-risk operation. After a brief yet intense exchange of gunfire, the three suspects were neutralized, putting an end to a prolonged period of fear and violence they were allegedly responsible for.

The operation site, located near the picturesque Mount Mahadev, transformed into a tactical battleground as security forces quickly cornered the suspects. This coordinated response is being recognized as a successful effort to combat foreign infiltration and cross-border terrorism.

This operation represents a significant milestone in India’s ongoing battle against terror threats originating from across the border. The forces are now conducting follow-up sweeps in the nearby areas to ensure the complete neutralization of any associated groups.
