The second day of Hyundai India Couture Week 2025 featured Isha Jajodia’s Roseroom, radiating self-love and empowerment like never before. Her latest collection, Whispers of Love To Myself, presented a contemporary and unrefined interpretation of femininity, celebrating gentleness as a form of strength and structure as a form of poetry.
The show commenced with a monologue accompanied by the melody of La Vie en Rose by Edith Piaf. The narration illustrated a woman’s journey from being subdued to learning to walk softly at first, and then with confidence.
The opening act, ‘Dear Innocence’, showcased soft blush tones and light pastels, visually whispering of new beginnings. Chantilly lace layered over corsetry, delicate featherwork combined with bustled skirts, and silhouettes that captured feminine innocence like no other.
As the collection progressed to ‘To My Becoming’, the color palette transitioned to richer roses and jewel tones, representing growth and transformation. Lace undoubtedly took center stage in her collection, coming to life in every piece. In fact, several items allowed the unadorned lace to shine prominently.
The segment ‘With Love, Always’ served as a luminous tribute to self-love, as she revels in her own goddess-like radiance, unapologetic and complete. The concluding segment, ‘I Am’, focused on self-actualization and empowerment, crafted to honor the woman who has arrived, not only in style but also in self-awareness.
At the heart of it all was Tara Sutaria, who closed the Roseroom show in an ensemble that perfectly encapsulated the collection’s theme of strength enveloped in softness. She donned an ivory skirt adorned with intricate floral lace. The bodice was structured like a corset and embellished with shimmering gold details, complemented by additional lace accents.
Each of the 50 couture pieces was meticulously crafted over 500 hours, blending traditional methods with innovative design. The corsetry and capes were adorned with metal floral accents, iridescent enamel, and mother of pearl; these elements were more than mere decorations, they felt like cherished tokens, held close to the heart.
In discussing the collection, Isha Jajodia states, “For the Roseroom woman, who embodies confidence in her gentleness and timeless elegance, this collection presents treasures to accompany her through life’s most thrilling moments. Each piece reflects her finest self, intended to be treasured through the seasons and generations, passed down as heirlooms of inner strength.”
