A video showing a Blinkit delivery agent urinating in the lift of an apartment building in Virar, Maharashtra, has ignited outrage on social media. The incident, recorded on CCTV, has quickly gone viral.
This event occurred in an apartment complex in Virar, where residents, infuriated by the delivery agent’s actions, confronted him after watching the footage.
The individual, dressed in Blinkit’s delivery uniform, was reportedly assaulted by the residents before being taken to Bolingaj Police Station to file a formal complaint.
In the viral footage, the delivery agent is seen entering the lift, moving to a corner, and urinating, oblivious to the fact that he was being recorded.
Another video shows him being interrogated by residents. “Why are you hitting me?” he questions, to which a resident responds, “What were you doing in the lift? We will report you to the police.”
Currently, Blinkit has not released any statement regarding this incident.
Complaint Submitted to Bolinj Police Station
A formal complaint has been lodged at the Bolinj Police Station located in Virar West. Police representatives have acknowledged the receipt of the complaint and indicated that an investigation is currently in progress. Blinkit has not provided an official comment regarding the incident as of yet. Nevertheless, the platform is anticipated to take internal measures against the person implicated.
Earlier this month, a customer from Delhi accused a Blinkit delivery agent of misusing his personal information and threatening him over the phone, allegedly stating, “Maloom hai mujhe kaha rehte ho (I know where you live).”
He further claimed that the same agent harassed him with more than 15 phone calls in just a few minutes, using offensive language and making threats.
