The Malayalam film Drishyam 3, featuring Mohanlal and directed by Jeetu Joseph, is currently in development. Although filming has not yet commenced, the director addressed rumors in an interview with Matrubhumi, clarifying that the Hindi version starring Ajay Devgn will not begin production first. He even mentioned that he had to threaten legal action to prevent this from occurring.
Drishyam 3 with Ajay Devgn will not start production first
During the interview, Jeetu disclosed that he intervened to stop the producers of the Hindi version of Drishyam 3 with Ajay from starting early, as the Malayalam version is the original.
He stated, “There were requests to produce both the Malayalam and Hindi versions simultaneously, but we have not made any decisions regarding that. Initially, there were plans to begin with the Hindi version, but once it was indicated that this would be handled legally, they withdrew.”
For those who may not be aware, there were recent reports suggesting that Ajay’s Hindi version of Drishyam 3 would soon enter production. However, Jeetu confirmed that he is still working on the screenplay, and the Malayalam film is set to begin filming in October this year.
The Hindi version is anticipated to start shooting afterward. Speaking at an event, Jeetu also mentioned, “I completed writing the climax of Drishyam 3 last night. I have been under significant pressure for quite some time.”
