A fierce altercation occurred between two female lawyers on the Mathura court grounds on Friday. Footage of the incident has been circulating widely on social media, captured by bystanders using their phones.
The footage depicts the two lawyers hurling insults, yanking each other’s hair, and engaging in a physical confrontation in plain sight. One of the women is seen striking the other while gripping her hair, as shocked onlookers gathered around.
One of the lawyers, named Sneh Lata, accused her former friend and colleague of betrayal and assault. Sneh Lata stated that the conflict arose after her associate allegedly reneged on an agreement to co-establish a law chamber.
“She initially assured me, ‘We are sisters. I will never betray you, I will never deceive you’,” Sneh Lata recounted to India Today TV. “I invested my funds in establishing the chamber and worked diligently to manage all related affairs.”
“However, this morning when I arrived to sit in our chamber, as soon as I entered and arranged the chairs, she kicked them and began to destroy the chairs. She even kicked my scooter,” she explained.
“She told me, ‘This is my chamber, not yours. I am the owner of this chamber. You are not welcome here and should leave immediately’,” she continued.
Sneh Lata, who was seen attacking her associate in the footage, asserted that she was the one who was kicked in the face and stomach and had her hair pulled first.
A police representative confirmed that the altercation occurred but noted that no formal complaint had been lodged as of yet.
“There was an altercation between two female lawyers, and the video is trending on social media. No one has approached us so far. If the women come forward, the situation will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken,” the official stated.
