An accused named Raju, also known as Barkya Londhe, was taken to the Sahakar Nagar Police Station in Pune at approximately 1 am on Friday, where he began to rant and smashed the station’s windows.
The 23-year-old, who is involved in several molestation cases, caused a significant disturbance, sprayed pepper spray on 4 to 5 police officers, and damaged the glass windows of the Sahakar Nagar Police Station. He claimed innocence and demanded his release. Londhe has been identified as a resident of Taljai Vasahat in Sahakar Nagar.
Acting on a tip-off, the police attempted to arrest Londhe near his residence around 2 am. While being taken into custody, he created a scene, insisting on his innocence. In the chaos, he used pepper spray against the officers in a bid to escape.
Once Londhe arrived at the police station around 3 am, he continued to rant and broke the station’s windows with his hands. Additionally, he threatened the officers, stating he would kill them.
Senior Police Inspector Rahul Gaud from the Sahakar Nagar Police Station told, “Londhe has now been transferred to a hospital for medical care. Furthermore, a new case will be filed against him for causing a disturbance at the police station and interfering with government duties.”
An investigation is ongoing.
