An IndiGo plane traveling from Delhi to Goa made an emergency landing at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Wednesday after suffering an engine failure during the flight, according to a report by news agency PTI.

As per a different report from Hindustan Times, various flight tracking services indicated that the IndiGo flight took off from Delhi for Goa around 8 pm, following a delay of approximately thirty minutes. However, it was redirected to Mumbai, landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport just before 10 pm.

IndiGo reported that a technical issue was identified on its Delhi-Goa flight 6E 6271 on July 16, leading the crew to divert the aircraft to Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport as a precautionary measure. The airline stated that the aircraft will undergo inspections and maintenance before it is put back into service. In the meantime, a substitute aircraft was arranged to transport the passengers to Goa. IndiGo expressed its regret for the inconvenience caused, emphasizing that safety is its highest priority.
