Veteran actor and producer Dheeraj Kumar has been admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai.

The 79-year-old, a well-known figure in Indian cinema and television, was hospitalized on Monday after experiencing breathing difficulties. Currently, he is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) receiving ventilator support due to acute pneumonia. His family has made a request for privacy and prayers, highlighting that medical professionals are delivering all necessary care. They have expressed their appreciation for the support from fans and well-wishers.

“The family requests prayers for his swift recovery and urges everyone to respect their privacy during this challenging time,” they stated in an official media release. Kumar’s family and production team confirmed that doctors are closely observing his condition and remain optimistic about his recovery.

Prior to his hospitalization, Kumar attended the inauguration ceremony of the ISKCON temple in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. At the event, he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts to promote Sanatan Dharma. “I came here with a sense of humility. While they referred to me as the VVIP, I believe the true VVIP is God,” Kumar commented, showcasing his spiritual engagement and humility.

Dheeraj Kumar began his career in the entertainment industry in 1965, establishing a notable presence in both film and television. He appeared in 21 Punjabi films from 1970 to 1984 and later founded Creative Eye, a production company recognized for popular religious serials like ‘Om Namah Shivay’. His filmography includes significant roles in ‘Swami’, ‘Heera Panna’, and ‘Raaton Ka Raja’. His contributions to the industry have been acknowledged and celebrated throughout the years.
