At least four fatalities reported in plane crash at London Southend Airport

At least four individuals lost their lives following a small aircraft crash at London’s Southend Airport on Sunday, according to a report by the BBC.

The British public service broadcaster indicated that the police are set to conduct a press conference at the airport, where they are expected to disclose the number of fatalities.

Video footage captured a 12-meter plane engulfed in flames, emitting a thick plume of black smoke at Southend-on-Sea, which is located east of London. This incident led to the airport’s closure “until further notice,” resulting in the cancellation of all flights to and from the facility.

As reported by the BBC, the aircraft, identified as a Beechcraft B200, crashed shortly after taking off.

Southend-on-Sea is situated approximately 65 kilometers (40 miles) east of the capital and ranks as the sixth largest airport in the London region.
