Asha Bhosle’s son refutes the rumors of her death, stating, ‘This is not true.’

Recently, fans of Asha Bhosle were taken aback by the circulating death rumors of the iconic singer on social media. The situation began when a Facebook user named Shabana Shaikh posted a garlanded image of Bhosle accompanied by a misleading caption that claimed she had passed away.

“Renowned singer Asha Bhosle has died – marking the end of a musical era (01 July 2025),” the post stated. Shortly thereafter, numerous similar posts emerged, falsely lamenting Bhosle’s supposed death.

In response to these rumors, Asha Bhosle’s son, Anand Bhosle, has spoken out, urging the public not to believe the misinformation. “This is not true,” he recently told ETimes.

It is important to highlight that Asha Bhosle was recently seen honoring her late husband, music composer Rahul Dev Burman, on what would have been his 85th birthday. On June 27, she paid tribute to him by showing special reverence to his beloved harmonium, alongside the various awards and medals that were proudly displayed around his photograph.

Additionally, it is noteworthy that Asha Bhosle eloped with Ganpatrao Bhosle at the young age of 16. They wed against their families’ wishes and had three children together, but the couple separated in 1960. Asha later married music director and actor RD Burman in 1980, and they remained together until his passing in 1994.

Asha Bhosle made a significant return to the music scene with her songs in Rangeela. At 79, she debuted as a leading actress in the film Mai in 2013. The legendary singer also has a passion for cooking, which she has transformed into a career by operating restaurants in major cities around the globe.
