Both Pilots Killed After crash of an IAF Jaguar jet in Rajasthan

Jaipur:  A Jaguar aircraft belonging to the IAF crashed in the Churu district of Rajasthan on Wednesday, resulting in the deaths of both pilots aboard the twin-seater aircraft.

In a statement released shortly after the incident, the IAF reported, “An IAF Jaguar Trainer aircraft encountered an accident during a routine training mission and crashed near Churu in Rajasthan today. Both pilots suffered fatal injuries in the incident. There have been no reports of damage to any civilian property.”

“The IAF expresses deep sorrow over the loss of lives and stands in solidarity with the grieving families during this difficult time. A court of inquiry has been established to determine the cause of the accident,” the statement continued.

The aircraft went down in an agricultural field in Bhanoda village at approximately 1:25 pm, as noted by SHO Rajaldesar, Kamlessh. He mentioned that human remains were discovered near the crash site.

In the aftermath of the crash, local residents hurried to the scene and encountered burning wreckage.

Officers from the Rajaldesar and Ratangarh police stations, along with the fire brigade and ambulance services, also arrived at the location, as stated by Circle Officer, Ratangarh, Anil Kumar.
