A text message from the new Indian Test captain, Shubman Gill, prompted Harpreet Brar to attend the national team’s training session at Edgbaston in preparation for the second Test against England.
Currently, India finds itself trailing 1-0 in the five-match Test series after suffering a five-wicket defeat in the first match held in Leeds, where their pace bowlers underperformed.
It appears that India is poised to implement a strong spin strategy for the Birmingham Test as they aim to recover in the series.
Ravindra Jadeja did not take any wickets in the first Test, and to bolster his performance, Shubman Gill and coach Gautam Gambhir may consider replacing Shardul Thakur with Kuldeep Yadav at Edgbaston.
