Prasidh Krishna accepts ‘full responsibility’ following disappointing performance against England

Prasidh Krishna has faced criticism from several former players after conceding over 200 runs in the series opener at Leeds, which resulted in India losing by five wickets.

The Indian team is currently under considerable pressure following the defeat at Headingley. Head coach Gautam Gambhir is increasingly scrutinized to rectify the situation and ensure strong performances in the upcoming Tests. The past year in red-ball cricket has not unfolded as expected for India, with only one series victory.

Gambhir, who succeeded Rahul Dravid as head coach, began his tenure with a home series win against Bangladesh, but things have deteriorated since then. India suffered a historic 0-3 loss to New Zealand at home, lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the first time in ten years, and now faced defeat in the first Test of a five-match series against England. He is under significant pressure, and some players are also being criticized for their recent lackluster performances.
